Bee Mine: Plus Size Valentine’s Day Outfit Ideas, Part 2

Welcome to Part 2 of the Bee Mine series, where I’m sharing all sorts of traditional (and not so traditional) plus size Valentine’s Day outfit inspiration ideas to help you get ready.

Today, we’re taking a trip to an adorable European-style café for a dessert date!

And, naturally, we have an absolutely darling outfit to wear on our outing! Presented in a classic Valentine’s Day red, the ribbed sweater texture of the dress and the oversized plaid scarf keep this outfit cute and casual (you know, in case you’re taking a romantic, hand-in-hand stroll afterwards).

show off your sweet side

Today’s look is perfect either for a date day or for meeting up with your girls. No fuss, no stress and no discomfort, it’s easily adaptable to a number of situations.

Now, as a lot of you know, I come from a very humble background. My dad is a disabled navy veteran, and my mom is a Filipino immigrant. As a result, I often had to get creative with get together ideas growing up, since I didn’t have a lot of money to spare. Dessert date was always a favorite of mine.

One, it’s absolutely possible for two people to enjoy dessert out together for as little as $10-15. And two, something about dessert just feels special and luxurious, even if you’re having a $3 cupcake.

So, if you’re in a situation where you really don’t have a lot to spend this Valentine’s Day, why not have dinner at home and then go out for dessert? It’s a great way to enjoy an evening out without breaking the bank.

red hot

I’ll admit, I’m a sucker for wearing red on Valentine’s Day. I think it’s because red is my favorite color (and favorite color to wear) all year long. So it’s just like, a really convenient excuse to wear a fantastic red dress.

If red isn’t your preferred choice, but you love the texture and cut of this dress (because it really is lovely), it also comes in a deep goldenrod yellow.

it’s a match

The last thing I want to talk about for this outfit is how to accessorize it. Since my game plan with this one is to keep things light and lovely, I just paired it with my very favorite scarf. It gives off a cute, “I want to hold your hand” vibe that’s perfect for early-relationship lovebirds, but it’s totally wearable anywhere you may go on Valentine’s Day.

So, if you’re trekking from a girl time get together (I mean, Fifty Shades Freed hits theaters right before Valentine’s Day this year…) to a date with your boo, this outfit is going to make you a style star in both settings. It’s playful, it’s flirtatious, and yet, it’s completely relaxed.

Make sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss the remainder of this series – we have two more beautiful outfits coming your way for Valentine’s Day inspo!
