Mix and Match

Hey, honeybees! Can’t wait to see a bunch of you tonight at my Kendra Scott blog birthday party! Thank you so much for your support in my first year – it’s truly humbling to hear your well wishes and congratulations.

I’ve been practically living in this outfit recently and I just had to share. I picked up this floral mesh skater dress at Torrid because, I mean – fun, flirty and floral – that’s an “F” trifecta! But I didn’t realize I’d love it this much. The fit is exceptional, hitting me at all the right curves. Overall, it’s just really comfortable. A couple of things: I took a read through some online reviews and noticed others found this dress to be itchy? It’s fully lined, so I haven’t experienced that problem. Also, I noticed that Torrid lists it as being navy. It looks purple in person to me, but it might just be me!

structure, meet design

The form-fitting top and flared, pleated skirt really make this dress curvy-girl friendly. I get showered with compliments each time I wear it, which I honestly think is why I keep wearing it everywhere I go stems from its incredible design. Plus, the white, pink and purple flowers add a perfect summery touch. Note: for my taller girls out there I’d try this one on first! The skirt is super structured, but it’s on the shorter side. At 5’3”, even I had to be careful not to show too much.

The best part about this dress though? It’s on sale now for $13.50 (and going quickly)!

keep your options open

I’ve had the opportunity to dress this Torrid pick up and down and, while I really love it with my faux suede blush wedges, I styled it for a casual summer afternoon with my blue Keds. By the way, if you’re in Houston on a hot day (so, every day) the Houston Waterwall Park (pictured here) is really cooling and refreshing — check it out! The Keds dress down the look for a more low-key outing, while their tonal chambray stripes add an element of stylish surprise.

I l adore the way these Keds add a subtle wink to mixing prints, which is awesome if you’re looking for a low pressure way to try out the trend! Wearing kicks with dresses is so popular right now, and I can see why: the dress is airy and pretty, but the shoes really ground the whole look into a quintessential summer outfit. Fun, playful and just the right amount of sexy.
